About Karl Pister LCSW
My belief in the ability of people to change and improve has lead to a marvelous career, now over 25 year long.

I named my practice The Coaching Group, Inc. because of the power that I have seen in the world of sports with good coaching. A good coach develops and promotes the existing talents of his/her players. The player should feel inspired and supported throughout the process and want to go out and enjoy the sport and all the pleasure and exitement it can bring.

This metaphor is easily extended into life itself. A person should come into a counseling situation wanting to eventually go out and enjoy life and all the pleasure and exitement it can bring. As a counselor, I see my role is to work with the natural abilities my clients bring and through whatever way possible, enhance their abilities to go and enjoy their lives.

This is not a blythe approach that overlooks the deep pain and suffering that many clients endure. It is merely using what good research has established to be productive manners for assisting great people to maximize their potential and realize their goals.
