About Me
I hope to help reduce or eliminate the suffering that comes from trauma and life's many other challenges through compassionate and scientific psychotherapy. I have worked with children and adults since the 1970's in two careers: as a pediatric physician assistant, and later as a Clinical Psychologist. As tools in the therapy process, I bring in EMDR, Somatic Transformation, Somatic Experiencing, Hypnosis, Creative Arts Therapy, Sand Tray and much more, offering these skills in accordance with the wishes and healing preferences of the client. I vigorously pursue continuing education and enrich my practice on a continual basis.
Specialties: Trauma, Dissociative Disorders, Phase of Life Problems, Mood Disorders, Relational Issues, Optimal Wellness and Health Issues, and Grief and Bereavement. I especially love to work with professionals in the healing arts, and persons in the creative arts. My best specialty is in appreciating the unique gifts of my clients.
Currently I work with a very kind and life-loving dog named Surge. He is especially fond of the young, or the young at heart. I invite clients to develop and expand their capacity for creative expression through whatever talents they may develop or deepen and coach towards healthy lifestyles.
